If you’re struggling with how to adjust your Mother’s Day plans this year because of budget or social distancing, we understand. We’ve put some ideas together that could help trigger your creativity so you can give your mom the Mother’s Day she deserves during these difficult times. As always, we’re here to bounce off ideas and help in any way we can, don’t hesitate to reach out or leave a message with your gift ideas in the comment section below.
1. A Gift of Appreciation Write your mom a letter or send her an email, take some time to make it meaningful by sending photos with it or attaching photos to your email. Words of affirmation never fail to make someone feel appreciated, especially your mom. If you have the time and funds to take it a step further, another option is to create a custom photobook online to send to her. Here are some sites that provide this service, many of which are currently running a variety of promotions: Photobook Canada, Blurb, Snapfish, Shutterfly, and Mixbook. |
2. A Gift of Local Food and Drink or a Virtual Cooking Session Order some local food or drink to be delivered to your mom’s house from a local business who could use your support. If you are local to Toronto like us, check out these businesses who have adapted to the times to serve their communities through pick up or delivery options! As an alternative, you could schedule a video chat cooking session with your mom where you both cook a new recipe together over Zoom/Facetime/Google Hangouts/Skype. |

Virtual games: you could play virtual games with your mom through sites like Jackbox Games where you can share your screen through Zoom or Google Hangouts and play games together remotely. They are currently running several promotions right now. Self-care: you could plan to do some self-care at the same time whether that’s putting on a face mask or doing a meditation. You can find a variety of clean and natural self-care products on our website, such as our green and pink clay masks. Apps like Calm or Insight Timer offer some great free meditations for you to try together as well. DIY: you could create a DIY project together. Here is a DIY bath salts recipe from our good friend Josée Duranleau, the Owner and Founder of Foliée: |
